An Inglorious Exit!

The reigning T-20 World Champions have crashed out of the tournament coming last in the group matches. Once again they have failed to play for the country as they did in the last ODI World Cup in the West Indies. Though everyone accepted the fact that retaining the Cup was a miracle in a T-20 game plan, a three run defeat in the hands of England, that too when the skipper is at the crease is just unacceptable to any Indian. Probably the players today are not interested in the few lakhs of rupees they may get from BCCI if the win the Cup as they have moved to a higher plane of making crores of rupees in the IPL circuit. Yes we know cricket is a game you can never predict until the last ball is bowled but that applies only for teams that really want to give a fight till the last ball not for those who play only in the last over! The defeat has once again caste an ugly shadow over the selection process of the players for world title events as India is notorious for its politics in the field of sports!
