How media is influencing us in our day to day thought process is very interesting to study. There are so many national issues carving for solutions and attention of the rulers - but a cricket debacle or win completely swipes the minds of citizens for a period of time. All TV and news channels keep repeating the same story in different color throughout the day that if you sit back and think what really happened today in the country, you will find that no happening has been brought to your knowledge other than one or two main news items. Today news channels have become like soap operas with a plethora of advertisements after every sentence of news. And we have at least a dozen 24 hours news channels bombarding our living room. That way BBC news channel enlightens one's knowledge with serious documentaries on various issues round the globe between their news bulletins. Many Indian news channels are still in school and it may take some more time for them to get graduated to telecast worthy content!
